In
the Yorkshire Dales, the Upper Wharfedale area, lies our holiday cottage
- Halton Gill Cottage - on a small working farm in the
tiny settlement of Halton Gill which is in Littondale, an
integral part of the Yorkshire Dales, tucked
away in a quiet and idyllic corner of the county. So, if being away from it all is what
you are looking for, you are in just the right spot!
We
have Pen-y-ghent on our doorstep which is part of the 3 peaks.
A
taste of small Dales towns is to hand, with
Grassington and the
market town of Settle only a short drive away.
Our cottage, a recent
conversion from part of the farmhouse of Ellershaw Farm, the home
of The Dean Family, has one beautifully furnished en
suite bedroom which exudes comfort, and which has the most
stunning views that you could wish for.
If you enjoy life away from
the cut and thrust of the busy life that is found in the more
urban areas, you will thoroughly enjoy a break at Halton Gill,
where the air is crisp, and the water is from the local springs.
Heaven can be no better!
The fields and hills which
surround this superb property are still farmed in the traditional
way, with breeds of hill sheep such as dalesbred and swaledale together with some native breeds of cattle .

Walkers adore this neck of
the woods, and our lovely property is ideally situated for lovely walks
for miles around.
Our web site contains a
host of information concerning the many natural attractions which
are abundant in the area, including Links to some of them,
thereby affording you the easy opportunity to see for yourself the
marvels that exist in the lesser-known yet still most attractive
parts of what is arguably England's most attractive county.
Please therefore use the
drop down menu towards the top of each page, and find your way
round our web site, a site which has much pictorial evidence of
what is on offer, not only within our four walls, but also in the
surrounding idyllic area.
We hope that you will enjoy
your journey round our web site, and that you will follow that up
with a visit here, to stay in utter comfort. and enjoy total
freedom . . . . . again and again! |
